Bulborb

Bulborbs are common nocturnal predators in the Pikmin series and one of its most recognizable creature families. The standard Red Bulborb sleeps during the day and attacks Pikmin or explorers that enter its territory.

Bulborbs as predators in the Pikmin ecosystem

Bulborbs behave like animals rather than speaking characters, relying on hunger, instinct, and territorial behavior. Their rounded bodies and spotted backs make them visually harmless at a distance despite their danger.

Feeding behavior, combat, and species variants

They attack by biting and can consume multiple Pikmin if not quickly defeated. Different species, juvenile forms, and regional variants change size, color, habitat, and behavior, so "Bulborb" can refer to the broader family as well as the familiar red adult.
