Source Policy

FigureLoop organizes publicly available information about collectible figures so that collectors can search, compare, and understand individual releases more easily. This policy explains how source information, image references, attribution details, and correction requests are handled across public FigureLoop records.

Source metadata

FigureLoop records source-related metadata when it is available and relevant to a figure entry. This may include:

* The original product or announcement page

* The name of the manufacturer, publisher, distributor, retailer, event, or other source

* Public image URLs and the pages on which those images appeared

* Copyright notices, credit lines, licensing information, or usage-status notes provided by the source

* The date on which source information was reviewed or last checked

* Notes used to distinguish official information from secondary references

Source metadata is retained to help FigureLoop verify records, review corrections, identify outdated information, and provide clearer context about where a particular detail originated.

The amount of available metadata varies between records. Recent releases often have complete official product pages, while older, limited, event-exclusive, or discontinued figures may have incomplete or archived source information.

Official and secondary sources

FigureLoop gives priority to first-party sources, including official manufacturer websites, publisher announcements, licensed distributor pages, event pages, and official social media accounts.

When an official source is no longer available or does not contain enough information, FigureLoop may consult established secondary references, archived pages, retailer listings, catalog scans, press coverage, or other publicly accessible records.

Information from secondary sources is reviewed carefully and, where possible, compared against multiple independent references before it is added to a public record.

A source link does not necessarily mean that FigureLoop endorses the source, its products, its commercial practices, or all information published on that website.

Image handling

FigureLoop may display, reference, or link to publicly accessible product images for identification, cataloging, historical reference, and collector research.

Images are generally associated with the page on which they were originally published, and source information is recorded where it can reasonably be identified. FigureLoop does not claim ownership of third-party product photography, promotional artwork, character artwork, logos, packaging designs, or other copyrighted materials.

Images may be resized, compressed, reformatted, cropped, or presented in a standardized layout to improve page performance and browsing consistency. These technical changes do not transfer ownership or remove the rights of the original copyright holder.

Where image ownership, licensing status, or attribution information is unclear, FigureLoop may mark the record for further review, limit the image displayed, replace it with a more clearly sourced image, or remove it.

Listing and product information

FigureLoop restructures public product information into standardized fields such as:

* Product name

* Character and source title

* Manufacturer and brand

* Figure series or product line

* Sculptor or artist

* Scale, dimensions, and materials

* Release date and original price

* JAN code or other product identifiers

* Edition, bonus, exclusivity, or re-release information

This information may be normalized for consistency. For example, dates may be presented in a common format, manufacturer names may be standardized, and product titles may be shortened or reorganized for easier search and mobile display.

FigureLoop does not intentionally alter the factual meaning of the original source. Editorial formatting, summaries, translations, and standardized labels are used to make records easier to understand and compare.

Attribution

Where practical, FigureLoop identifies the source connected to a record, image, or factual claim. Attribution may appear as a source name, source link, copyright notice, image credit, reference note, or a combination of these elements.

Not every public page displays every piece of stored source metadata. Attribution may be simplified to keep collector-facing pages readable, while additional review notes remain available for internal verification.

The absence of a visible credit line should not be interpreted as a claim of ownership by FigureLoop.

Public display

Public FigureLoop pages are designed around collector-facing information. They focus on facts that help users identify and understand a figure, rather than exposing the full internal review process.

Internal notes, moderation records, unresolved source comparisons, private contact details, automated processing fields, operational flags, and other non-public metadata are not displayed.

Information may also be withheld when publishing it could create privacy, security, contractual, or rights-related concerns.

Historical and unavailable sources

Some older figure releases no longer have active official pages. Websites may be redesigned, product pages may be removed, and image URLs may stop working.

When an original source is unavailable, FigureLoop may preserve the source name, archived URL, citation history, or other available context. Archived and secondary references are treated as supporting evidence rather than automatically being considered equivalent to a current official page.

FigureLoop may retain historical information even when a product is discontinued, provided there is a reasonable basis for believing the information is accurate and useful to collectors.

Corrections and source reviews

Collectors, manufacturers, artists, rights holders, and other relevant parties may submit a correction when a record contains inaccurate information, outdated metadata, broken source links, unclear attribution, or an image that requires review.

Useful correction requests should include:

* The FigureLoop page concerned

* The information believed to be incorrect or incomplete

* A reliable source supporting the requested change

* A brief explanation of the issue

* Any relevant copyright, licensing, or attribution details

Submitted corrections are reviewed before changes are made. FigureLoop may compare the request against official pages, archived records, manufacturer information, or other reliable references.

Submitting a correction does not guarantee that a record will be changed, but supported corrections and legitimate rights-related requests are taken seriously.

Image and rights requests

Copyright holders or authorized representatives may request that an image be credited, updated, replaced, restricted, or removed.

A request should identify the relevant page or image and explain the requester’s relationship to the material. FigureLoop may ask for additional information when necessary to confirm the request and avoid removing correctly attributed or legitimately referenced material in error.

During a review, affected material may be temporarily hidden or restricted.

Independence

FigureLoop is an independent figure information and discovery website. Unless explicitly stated, it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the manufacturers, publishers, licensors, retailers, artists, or intellectual property owners referenced in its records.

All product names, character names, series names, company names, trademarks, logos, images, and related materials remain the property of their respective owners.

Ongoing improvement

Source quality varies across the history of the figure industry, and no catalog is completely free from missing, conflicting, or outdated information.

FigureLoop continuously reviews records, improves attribution, replaces broken references, and refines how source context is presented. Community corrections are an important part of maintaining a more reliable and useful figure database.
