Chiaki Nanami is the Ultimate Gamer in Danganronpa 2 and a central member of Class 77-B. Within the Neo World Program, she serves as an observer created to guide the students toward cooperation.

Quiet, patient, and frequently sleepy, Chiaki becomes animated when discussing games. Her calm kindness makes her a trusted mediator even though her artificial nature requires her to conceal part of her role.

Chiaki uses broad gaming knowledge, logic, and teamwork rather than physical power. Her friendship with Hajime Hinata becomes especially important, while her sacrifice during the class trial and the real Chiaki's tragedy connect the simulation's hope to the class's lost past.
