Elaina

Elaina is the Wandering Witch and narrator of Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina. After becoming the youngest apprentice to pass her country's witch examination, she studies under Fran and begins traveling through different kingdoms.

Elaina's journey as the Ashen Witch

Confident, curious, and sometimes deliberately detached, Elaina records what she sees without assuming she can solve every tragedy. Her motivation is to experience the world described in the travel stories she loved as a child.

Magic, observation, and the limits of intervention

Elaina uses flight, transformation, telekinesis, and other advanced magic, earning the title Ashen Witch from her gray hair. Encounters with Saya, Fran, and alternate versions of herself show both the freedom and emotional cost of remaining a traveler.
