Hakase

Hakase is the child scientist in Nichijou who created the android Nano Shinonome. Although she is an extraordinary inventor, she lives at home with Nano and the talking cat Sakamoto while behaving like an ordinary eight-year-old.

Playful, selfish, affectionate, and easily distracted by snacks, Hakase often modifies Nano without permission because she finds the results amusing. Her childishness coexists with genuine attachment to her household.

Hakase builds advanced robots, weapons, gadgets, and artificial intelligence far beyond normal technology. Her relationship with Nano gradually resembles family, while arguments over the wind-up key and hidden devices express Nano's desire for normality and Hakase's fear of losing her companion.
