Hyakkimaru

Hyakkimaru is the central swordsman of Dororo, born after his father sacrifices his body parts to demons in exchange for political prosperity. Raised with prosthetic limbs, he hunts those demons to reclaim his senses and human body.

Hyakkimaru's quest to reclaim his body

Quiet, focused, and initially unfamiliar with ordinary emotion, Hyakkimaru learns empathy through traveling with Dororo. Each restored sense brings both joy and pain, while his obsession with becoming whole threatens the people around him.

Dororo, hidden blades, and the cost of revenge

His prosthetic arms conceal blades, and his spiritual sight allows him to perceive souls and demonic corruption. His conflict with his brother Tahomaru and father Daigo forces him to choose between personal restoration and the lives supported by Daigo's bargain.
