Kamui

Kamui is a Yato warrior and one of the most dangerous recurring opponents in Gintama. He leads the Harusame's Seventh Division and seeks increasingly powerful enemies to satisfy his obsession with combat.

Kamui in Gintama: identity and story role

Kamui is cheerful and polite on the surface, but he embraces the Yato instinct for violence and fears emotional dependence. His alien physiology provides overwhelming strength, speed, recovery, and close-combat ability even by Yato standards.

Kamui's relationships and major turning points

He is Kagura's older brother and Umibozu's son, and his rejection of family drives much of his conflict. Battles with Kagura and the Yorozuya force him to recognize that bonds are not the same as weakness.
