Kyou Kai

Kyou Kai is a warrior of the Hi Shin Unit in Kingdom and a survivor of the assassin clan known as the Shiyuu. She enters the battlefield while pursuing revenge for the death of her sister-like companion Kyou Shou.

Quiet, disciplined, and socially inexperienced, Kyou Kai gradually forms strong loyalty to Shin and the unit. Her initial life of assassination gives way to a desire for belonging and her own military ambitions.

The priestess dance, revenge, and finding a place to belong

Kyou Kai uses the priestess dance to enter a trance that greatly increases speed and sword skill, though it consumes breath and stamina. Her revenge against Yuu Ren and return to the Hi Shin Unit mark a decisive rejection of the Shiyuu's isolation.
