Mafuyu Sato

Mafuyu Sato is the vocalist and guitarist of the band Given. He carries the guitar of his late boyfriend Yuki and asks Ritsuka Uenoyama to teach him how to play, gradually turning unspoken grief into music.

Quiet, literal, and emotionally blocked, Mafuyu struggles to describe guilt and loss in ordinary conversation. Singing gives him a way to confront feelings that had remained frozen since Yuki's death.

Mafuyu develops as a songwriter, singer, and guitarist within the band formed with Ritsuka, Haruki, and Akihiko. His first original performance marks both a farewell to Yuki and the beginning of a new relationship with Ritsuka.
