Mazinger Z

Mazinger Z is the super robot piloted by Koji Kabuto in the Mazinger Z franchise. Built by Juzo Kabuto using Super Alloy Z and photonic energy, it is created to oppose Doctor Hell's Mechanical Beasts.

The robot itself does not have a consistent independent personality; its identity comes from Koji's decisions and the symbolic idea that its power could make the pilot either a god or a devil.

Mazinger Z uses Rocket Punch, Breast Fire, Rust Hurricane, and numerous upgraded weapons, later gaining flight through the Jet Scrander. Its battles establish many conventions of piloted super-robot stories and connect Koji to allies such as Sayaka and Great Mazinger.
