Menma

Menma, whose full name is Meiko Honma, is the deceased childhood friend at the center of Anohana. Years after her accidental death, she appears to Jinta Yadomi and asks him to fulfill a forgotten wish.

Menma and the reunion of the Super Peace Busters

Cheerful, affectionate, and concerned about everyone except herself, Menma wants the former Super Peace Busters to reconnect. Her presence also exposes their guilt, jealousy, and inability to mourn openly.

A forgotten wish, childhood grief, and saying goodbye

Menma has limited ghostly interaction and can usually be seen only by Jinta, though physical signs eventually convince the others. Fulfilling her wish allows the group to confess hidden feelings and finally say goodbye together.
