Nemesis is Ray Starling's Embryo companion in Infinite Dendrogram and usually appears as a young woman when not transformed into equipment. She supports Ray's growth as a player and person while evolving through forms that reflect their shared experiences and resolve.

Proud, sharp-tongued, loyal, and easily jealous, Nemesis gradually develops an identity beyond being a game system or weapon. She can transform into shields and swords, calculate counterattacks, and return amplified damage based on harm inflicted on Ray.

Nemesis's defining relationships and loyalties

Ray is her Master and closest partner, while Rook, Marie, Shu, and other allies treat her as a member of the party rather than an interchangeable item.
