Sayori

Sayori is the protagonist's childhood friend and vice-president of the Literature Club in Doki Doki Literature Club! She brings the player into the club while hiding severe depression behind a cheerful social role.

Sayori is warm, clumsy, selfless, and convinced that her own happiness burdens other people. Her writing expresses emotion directly, and her altered behavior later reflects Monika's control over the game's character files.

Sayori's abilities and key relationships

Her bond with the protagonist is genuine but cannot by itself cure her illness. Different game states make Sayori both victim of manipulation and, later, someone who becomes aware of the simulation.
