Tachikomans

The Tachikomas are spider-like autonomous think tanks used by Section 9 in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. They support surveillance, transport, hacking, and armed operations while developing individuality through shared data and independent experiences.

Curious, childlike, talkative, and increasingly philosophical, they question consciousness, sacrifice, and whether synchronized machines can possess individual souls. Their abilities include armored mobility, wall climbing, camouflage, machine guns, networking, cyberbrain access, and distributed artificial intelligence.

Tachikomans's relationships and major turning points

Batou forms the strongest personal bond with them, while Major Kusanagi and Section 9 supervise their growth and become the people they ultimately choose to protect.
