Taiga Aisaka is a small but intimidating high school student and central heroine of Toradora! She initially works with Ryuuji Takasu so each can pursue the other's best friend.

Taiga is aggressive, clumsy, proud, lonely, and deeply afraid of abandonment. She has no special abilities, but her forceful presence, persistence, and willingness to defend friends earn her the nickname Palmtop Tiger.

Taiga Aisaka's relationships and major turning points

Her alliance with Ryuuji becomes love as he provides the stable care missing from her family. Taiga eventually leaves temporarily to repair her relationship with herself and her parents.
