Takopi is a well-meaning alien from Happy Planet and the title character of Takopi's Original Sin.

Takopi arrives on Earth carrying Happy Gadgets and meets Shizuka, a bullied elementary-school student. Unable to understand abuse, guilt, and human conflict, Takopi repeatedly applies simple solutions to problems that are far more serious than they appear.

Takopi's bond with Shizuka, Marina, and Azuma turns an innocent rescue mission into a tragedy involving death and repeated timelines, forcing the alien to learn that genuine help requires understanding other people rather than merely changing events.
