Evangelion

Created by Hideaki Anno and Gainax, Evangelion is a Japanese science-fiction multimedia franchise first introduced in 1994. Teenager Shinji Ikari is recruited to pilot Evangelion Unit-01 against mysterious Angels, while the story explores trauma, identity and the secret plans of NERV and SEELE. Beginning with the 1995 television series, Evangelion became one of the most influential anime franchises and later continued through the Rebuild films.
