Higurashi

First introduced in 2002, Higurashi is a Japanese sound novel and horror mystery franchise developed by Ryukishi07 and 07th Expansion. In the rural village of Hinamizawa, Keiichi Maebara and his friends become trapped in repeating tragedies involving murders, paranoia and the village's hidden history. Its layered question-and-answer arcs expanded into manga, anime, games and later sequels such as Gou.
