The Beheading Cycle

The Beheading Cycle is a Japanese mystery novel and the first book of the Zaregoto series launched in 2002 by Nisio Isin, illustrated by Take. Unnamed narrator I-chan visits an isolated island with genius engineer Tomo Kunagisa, where a gathering of exceptional women becomes a locked-room murder case involving a decapitated victim. The novel launched Nisio Isin's Zaregoto series and was adapted as the OVA The Kubikiri Cycle.
