Unnamed narrator I-chan visits an isolated island with genius engineer Tomo Kunagisa, where a gathering of exceptional women becomes a locked-room murder case involving a decapitated victim. The novel launched Nisio Isin's Zaregoto series and was adapted as the OVA The Kubikiri Cycle.
